Animate 3D Characters

1. Create Your Character

Generate your 3D humanoid character on Cipher using either:

  • Text prompt

  • Uploaded image

(More character rigging types coming soon!) Make sure your character is in a T-pose for the best rigging results.

2. Auto-Rig Your Character

Click the Auto-Rig icon on the bottom left of your screen.

A stylized 3D female Roblox-like character stands in a T-pose at the center of the Cipher interface. She has long brown hair, a lavender hoodie, yellow-orange pants, and white sneakers. On the lower left of the screen, a pop-up labeled “Auto-Rig” displays a sample humanoid model with a prompt to start auto-rigging. On the right side of the screen, the chat window shows the user requesting a “female roblox character” and Cipher confirming the character description. A purple “Start a New Chat” button appears at the bottom.

3. Start Rigging

Hit Start Rigging. You can track progress in the top right corner.

A pop-up window in the Cipher interface titled “Animate Your Model” displays instructions for preparing a character for auto-rigging. On the left, a detailed sci-fi humanoid robot stands in a T-pose. Below it, the section “Allowed Character Types” shows icons for Humanoid (enabled) and Dog and Cat (both marked “Soon”). On the right side, text explains that requesting a humanoid in a T-pose gives the best results, with a small comparison graphic showing a correct T-pose versus an incorrect pose. At the bottom right is a bright purple button labeled “Start Rigging.” At the top left of the window, a badge notes “This feature is currently in development.”
A stylized 3D female Roblox-like character is shown in a side view, standing in a T-pose on a dark grid floor within the Cipher interface. She wears a lavender hoodie, orange pants, striped socks, and white sneakers. On the right side of the screen, the chat panel displays the user request “female roblox character,” Cipher’s detailed confirmation description, and a message stating that the asset creation has started. At the top right of the interface, a green progress bar labeled “Rigging… 16%” indicates that auto-rigging is currently in progress. At the bottom left, a note suggests enabling Roblox Mode for Roblox creators. A purple “Start a New Chat” button appears at the bottom of the chat panel.

4. Test Animations

Once rigging finishes, try out the built-in animation presets on the right side of your screen.

A stylized 3D female Roblox-like character in a lavender hoodie and orange pants stands on a dark grid floor inside the Cipher interface. As the GIF loops, she smoothly transitions through different animation presets—such as idle, walking, and gesturing—demonstrating the rigged model’s motion. On the right side of the screen, the “Animation Library” panel is open, displaying a searchable grid of animation options including Stop, Angry Gesture, Button Pushing, Cheering, Clapping, Dancing, Fighting, Hip-Hop, and others. The selected animation highlights briefly as the character moves. At the bottom right, a purple “New Chat” button is visible, and at the bottom left, icons for rotating, panning, and lighting controls appear beneath the character.

5. Export Your Rigged Model

You can download your character as a .glb file in either:

  • Static format

  • Rigged format

A stylized 3D female Roblox-like character wearing a lavender hoodie and orange pants is shown on the left side of the Cipher interface, partially cropped but standing in a T-pose on a dark grid floor. In the center bottom of the screen, an export dialog titled “Select your export option” offers two choices: “Static 3D Asset” to download the model in .GLB format, and “Rigged Character” to download the animation-ready version. A purple “Download” button is displayed below the options. On the right side of the screen, the Animation Library is open, showing a scrollable grid of animation presets such as Agree Gesture, Dizzy Idle, Happy Idle, Lead Jab, Moonwalk Dance, Salsa Dance, Wave Dance, and others. At the bottom right, a purple “New Chat” button is visible. Various viewport control icons appear along the bottom of the screen beneath the character.
